Young managers’ meeting

As the central voice of the flat glass industry, the Bundesverband Flachglas (BF) not only represents technical, normative and political interests, but also actively invests in the future viability of our industry through the next generation of managers.

“For me, promoting young talent is not a trend, but a real issue for the future. Our industry still has a lot of room for improvement when it comes to attracting and retaining young talent and giving them real prospects. This requires role models, honest encounters and formats such as the BF’s young leaders’ meeting, which show that leadership can also be bold, new and innovative: Leadership can also be bold, new and collaborative.

I am really proud that we were able to host this meeting this year – two days full of energy, open questions, inspiring discussions and a very special spirit.”

Idea & Objective

The BF’s junior managers’ meeting is a half-yearly exchange format that promotes, networks and strengthens young talent from member companies in a practical way:

  • Networking: Regular exchange between young talents from different companies – on site, at one member company each.
  • Skills development: workshops, specialist presentations and group work on topics such as leadership, digitalisation, sustainability and communication.
  • Knowledge transfer: Participants bring ideas back to their companies and thus promote industry-wide quality and innovation.
  • Identification and loyalty: Intensive participation in association life strengthens identification with the industry and promotes the long-term development of young talent.

The meeting sees itself as a catalyst for impetus, new perspectives and long-term industry loyalty.

Target Group

All young managers and up-and-coming talent from the member and supporting member companies of the German Flat Glass Association are invited to attend:

  • With clear prospects for management tasks or with responsibility already assumed.
  • Already active or specifically prepared for team leadership, project management or future responsibility in the company.
  • Learning from each other and with the association – through practical experiences, dialogue and networking.

Organisation & Procedure

The meeting takes place twice a year – each time at a different member company. The programme includes:

  • On-site company tour
  • Presentations by experts
  • Workshops and group work
  • Peer-to-peer feedback and exchange
  • Follow-up and digital community to permanently anchor the impulses in the network

Impact & Sustainability

The junior management meeting actively contributes to strengthening junior management expertise and industry loyalty:

  • Lasting knowledge transfer and innovation impulses in the companies
  • Strengthening identification with the association and the industry
  • Networking at eye level
  • Visible support for young managers as a strategic investment in the future by the BF

Through this format, the Bundesverband Flachglas consolidates its central role – as a moderator, promoter and link for the next generation of managers in the flat glass industry.
