Our supporting member Faltenbacher Jalousienbau presents a remarkable Project of the Month: the renovation and expansion of the Arche Noah daycare center in Emmerich am Rhein. The project placed particular emphasis on modern, sustainable, and safe construction methods to ensure both comfort and safety for the children.

A central element of the project is the installation of 84 thermal insulation glass units with integrated Isolette blinds. This innovative solution provides optimal glare and privacy protection while maintaining the necessary discretion for the children. The blinds, integrated into the space between the panes, offer numerous advantages:

  • Maximum safety: Integration within the glass eliminates the risk of injury from freely hanging shading systems.

  • Hygienic & low-maintenance: The system is protected from dirt, vandalism, and tampering, ensuring durability and ease of care.

  • Sustainability & energy efficiency: The materials used – glass and aluminum – are extremely durable and largely recyclable, making them ideal for efficient building use.

  • Discreet integration: The insulating glass with built-in blinds appears more subtle than external shading systems and preserves the regional architectural style of the daycare center.

For intelligent operation, the digital LL21 drive was installed, which can be controlled via both a central controller and local switches. The system is precisely adapted to room usage, allowing blinds to be operated centrally or individually in each room.

The project was designed by architect Johannes Peeters from Goch, a member of the Chamber of Architects of North Rhine-Westphalia (AKNW). As a specialist in public buildings, daycare centers, and educational facilities, he ensured a sustainable and functional design for the daycare.

We thank our supporting member Faltenbacher Jalousienbau for presenting this outstanding project!
